The unique architecture of this home is a rare find. It features and open floor plan that is perfect for social gatherings with a wrap-around back deck that runs the entire length of the house. The deck is great for entertaining or just sitting outside bird watching. This home has tons of storage, including more than ample closet space, attic space, 2 car garage, and 2 out buildings. There is also a 4 plot garden, large fig tree, 6 blueberry bushes, herbs and many more beautiful mature trees and plants, even a secret garden visible from the kitchen eating area! This one of kind home was designed and lived in by the patriarch of the current owners. It boasts spacious rooms, cathedral ceilings in many of the rooms, and lots of natural light from an abundance of windows and sliding glass doors. Recent renovations to the exterior of the home include new wood siding and paint, new gutters with gutter guards, all new sliding glass doors, and several new windows. One section of the house has a beautiful lofted wooden exposed beam ceiling in the large den area. This wing is complete with a bedroom and bath with a spot for electric and water hook up that could easily be made into a kitchenette and would make a fantastic mother-in-law suite.

The Greenville area served as hunting grounds of the Cherokee Indians until its first European settler, Richard Pearis, arrived in 1770. Greenville County was established after the Revolutionary War, in 1786, and settlers poured into the area. By 1795, the village centered on a log courthouse built near the Reedy River Falls, and the city’s name was later changed to Greenville after Revolutionary War hero, Nathanael Greene. By 1910, Greenville was a thriving cotton town, as grist mills were built along the banks of the Reedy River in the 1830s and the railroad arrived to town in the 1850s. Thousands of Scots-Irish tenant farmers moved to Greenville to seek jobs in the mills, which spelled the beginning of the area’s textile boom. This continued through the 1920s and into the late 1960s. Construction executives lured new industries to the area in the ‘60s, including automotive and tire companies.
