North Main neighborhood in Greenville, SC. Streets lined with tall trees, mature shrubs, rolling hills, and creeks. Kym Petrie saves homes from the studs to the roof….inside and out. Buist Avenue was built as a brick traditional home with two stories in 1943. Past owner meticulously removed years of old paint thru the home making it ready for a modern design with the keeping of the original floor plan. Kym hired the best vendors for New windows, wiring, floors, kitchen cabinets, appliances, mud room, and an addition for the main floor suite with ample closet space , built in cabinets, rectangular sink and separate shower with soaking tub, all with finishes of wall size framed mirror, large windows and wall space big enough for king sized bed. Home offers natural light with oversized windows, living room opening to sun room overlooking the street of beautiful old trees. Open kitchen with terrazzo granite with antique glass, lighting to match the glass over the perfect island on base of furniture. 2nd floor is flanked with two bedrooms and dormer nooks for reading, one bath to share in the hall. And the really fun and surprise of the home is the basement room of steel steps, light walls and painted ceiling of exposed floor joist with French doors to access outside third of acre level yard. When you enter the home, hanging hand blown circles of glass hang in a chandelier from the staircase to welcome you into this renovated, beautiful, one of a kind home in the North Main area of Greenville, SC. Home was staged and Photos were taken by a producer of the design TV show airing in the Fall, 2022. Furniture was removed prior to placing on market.

Greenville County was established after the Revolutionary War, in 1786, and settlers poured into the area. By 1795, the village centered on a log courthouse built near the Reedy River Falls, and the city’s name was later changed to Greenville after Revolutionary War hero, Nathanael Greene. By 1910, Greenville was a thriving cotton town, as grist mills were built along the banks of the Reedy River in the 1830s and the railroad arrived to town in the 1850s. Thousands of Scots-Irish tenant farmers moved to Greenville to seek jobs in the mills, which spelled the beginning of the area’s textile boom. This continued through the 1920s and into the late 1960s. Construction executives lured new industries to the area in the ‘60s, including automotive and tire companies.
